In this experiment you will study the effect of increasing the concentration of an ionic compound on conductivity. Conductivity will be measured as concentration of the solution is gradually increased by the addition of concentrated NaCl drops. The same procedure will be used to investigate the effect of adding other solutions with the same concentration (1.0 M ), but different numbers of ions in their formulas. aluminum chloride, AlCl3 and calcium chloride, CaCl. A conductivity probe will be used to measure conductivity of the solution. Conductivity is measured in microsiemens.

This concludes that the slopes match up and Nacl is half of AlCl3, since the moles for NaCl are 2 and the moles for AlCl3 is 4.

Mendeleev: Predicting the Future?
Purpose: To predict the density of the element Germanium by determining the density of the metals found in the same column of the periodic table

Is Lavoisier a liar?
Purpose: To prove if Lavoisier is correct about matter nether being created nor destroyed.
Data collected during the reaction:
Reactants in Grams:CHEM.PNG
Mass of empty beaker A: 28.66g

Mass of compound placed in beaker A: .75089

Mass of empty beaker B: 29.20g

Mass of compound B placed in beaker B: 1.199g

Total mass of compounds placed in beaker A & B: 1.9498g

Mass of clean filter paper: .8725g

Data collected after water is boiled off and beakers are allowed to cool:
Products in Grams:
Mass of beaker A & filter with compound: 30.4076g

Mass of compound recovered in beaker A: .8751g

Mass of beaker B + compound: 30.1821g

Mass of recovered compound in beaker B: .9821g

Total Mass of compounds before the reaction: 1.9498g

Total Mass of compounds after the reaction: 1.8572g

Conclusion: After all the results it shows that Lavoisier is not a liar because when we calculated the percent error it was only 4.7% which is good enough because the limit for percent error is 10% error.
